Markus Pistauer

Dr. Markus Pistauer is founder and CEO of CISC Semiconductor Design+Consulting GmbH.

Markus Pistauer was born in Austria. He holds a Master degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1991) and a Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Control Engineering (1995), both from Graz University of Technology , Austria.

Having four years of experience as software engineer and software consultant and studies at  University of California , San Diego, Markus Pistauer became research engineer at the Department for Sensoric, Joanneum Research Forschungsgesellschaft m.b.H., Graz in 1991 und Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics at Graz University of Technology. From 1995 he worked four years as Research and Design Application Engineer at Siemens  Semiconductor Devision and was also Senior Lecturer for Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at the Carinthian Tech Institute – University of Applied Sciences.

As founder of the company in 1999, he was the winner of the Business Plan contest “Biz.Plan” in 1999/2000, and 2004 the winner of the “Innovation & Research Prize for the Province of Carinthia 2004 ”. He is member of the IEEE, member of international program committees for conferences like “Informationstagung für Mikroelektronik”, “IASTED International Conference on Modelling, Identification and Control”, “International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications”,  and author and co-author of more than 60 publications in areas of computer science, soft computing, simulation, control and IC design techniques. Currently is is also acting as technical expert reviewing projects executed within the European EUREKA framework.

His technical interests cover the fields modeling, simulation and optimization techniques.
