Klagenfurt UniversityDepartment of Information Technology (ITEC)The Department of Information Technology (ITEC) at the Klagenfurt University covers computer and communication technology related areas in the Informatics Departments of the Klagenfurt University.
ITEC comprises three research groups with currently two full professors and one associate professor, and about 20 scientific, technical and administrative staff.
The areas of work, both in teaching and research, are as follows: Distributed multimedia; Computer and multimedia communication networks; Distributed and multimedia databases, multimedia metadata; Distributed and parallel systems, cluster computing; Operating systems, middleware, and compiler construction; Computer architecture and hardware-software interaction. The current research focus of ITEC is clearly on distributed multimedia systems. The three research groups collaboratively work on investigating the aspect of adaptation of multimedia contents and resources in distributed multimedia systems.
