CISC Awarded with
The Carinthian Economic Promotion Fund (KWF) awards once a year outstanding projects in the field of TD.ICT.EBS (Technological Services | Information and Communication Technologies | Electronic Based Systems). This year, CISC has won in the category Smart Production and Digitalization with its Reel2Reel Tester and NFC Xplorer Inline. CISC NFC Xplorer Tester is a turnkey solution for automatic testing of NFC tags on a reel at moderate speed. During a visit to CISC head office, Mrs. Sandra Venus, CEO of KWF, handed over the prize and got a demonstration of the Reel2Reel Tester.
At least since Apple activated all NFC functionalities on the iPhone, this technology can no longer be slowed down. The need for NFC chips that are integrated into conventional labels such as stickers or cards has increased enormously. The aim of the award-winning project TOSTER is to implement a test solution with which the performance of the NFC chips can be checked to ensure a positive experience for the end-user. At the same time, these test devices optimize the manufacturing process in order to save time and money. In the meantime, a solution has been presented that, when integrated into high-performance production machines, manages more than 100,000 label tests per hour and also supports the security labels required by industrial customers with crypto chips.
“Developing solutions with significant impact for the reliability of products in the market is at the heart of our work”, said Josef Preishuber-Pflügl, CTO of CISC Semiconductor and Business Manager of NFC+RFID. “We are proud to be awarded for our NFC Xplorer Tester and this prize is also a confirmation of our continuous research work in innovative products.”
