Dr. Markus Pistauer,
CEO

Dr. Markus Pistauer is founder and CEO of CISC Semiconductor GmbH, President of CISC Semiconductor Corp and CEO and founder of COYERO located in Austria and the U.S.A. He is also a steering board member of the ARTEMIS Industry Association.  Markus Pistauer holds a Master degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1991) and a Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Control Engineering (1995), both from Graz University of Technology, Austria. Markus Pistauer has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. In the 90s he was serving different roles like Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics at Graz University of Technology, Research and Design Application Engineer at Siemens Semiconductor Division and senior lecturer for Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.

More than 30 years
of experience

He has founded CISC Semiconductor in 1999 where he acted as CEO and in 2012 CISC Semiconductor Corp. in Mountain View, CA, USA. Since 2016 he is founder of COYERO, Inc. in Palo Alto (CA), U.S.A. and since 2019 CEO of COYERO GmbH in Austria. As technical expert he has acted since 2006 as evaluator and reviewer for former FP7 and now H2020 projects. He gathered significant experience within a couple of national and international collaborative research projects over the past 30 years. He is author and co-author of more than 70 papers published and holds several patents.

Josef Preishuber-Pflügl,
CTO

DI Josef Preishuber-Pflügl is Executive Vice-President, CTO of CISC Semiconductor GmbH. Starting on 125 kHz reader concepts, Josef Preishuber-Pflügl got involved in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in 1995 with his Master thesis on LF (125 kHz) reader demodulator at Graz University of Technology in Austria. He worked in several areas of RFID engineering and product management for system design, reader, tag and tag ASIC development covering all frequencies of passive RFID. Currently, he is an active participant in several standardization groups in the ISO, IEC and CEN area, convener of the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC31 WG4 for RF Communications, he is project editor for the ISO/IEC 18000-63. Since 10 years he is vice-chairman on ETSI ERM TG34 RFID and rapporteur of EN 302 208. He is also deeply involved in the GS1 EPCglobal work, NFC-Forum and RAIN Alliance, where he leads the Technical Working Group.

RFID and NFC Expert
for more than 25 years

At CISC, he has built up the Business Unit RF on RFID+NFC with its major activities in modeling, simulation, design, testing and evaluation of RFID systems and RFID applications for LF, HF(NFC)  and UHF (RAIN). The major focus in RFID and NFC system design is on product support and system design with simulation and measurement tools.
